About

Finnovatec was established by Dr. Bela Patkai in 2005 aiming to address the gap between high–tech research and industrial applications.

Bela was educated in Hungary, the UK and Finland, receiving the BSc, BEng, MSc and PhD degrees in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, and was promoted to adjunct professorship (dosentti) in Complex Systems at the Tampere University of Technology in Finland. He was awarded senior membership by the Industrial Electronics Society of IEEE in 2004.

During his carrier of 10 years he has worked simultaneously with industry and academia, building computer simulations, optimization models for planning and scheduling, and robot control algorithms. While at the Automation Lab (AutoID) of Cambridge University he worked on the integration of RFID and sensor technology with aerospace companies - e.g. Airbus, Boeing, Messier-Dowty - and published papers on networked RFID infrastructure development. He is the author of over 30 international publications, editor of several conference proceedings and an editor of a recently published book. You can email him at bp@finnovatec.com
